WE’RE NOT DEAD YET

I Fagiolini at 40

In 1986 another student vocal group gave its first concert with an eclectic a cappella mix: Monteverdi, Grieg, Lionel Ritchie’s ‘Hello’ and the Fairy Liquid jingle. 40 years later, Monteverdi has remained a constant and Robert Hollingworth and I Fagiolini have gone on to rethink exactly what a vocal group does, from stagings of unstageable a cappella to cross-cultural projects, world premiere recordings, the podcast Choral Chihuahua - and short film.

In an age of AI and cut & paste, I Fagiolini is a hand-painted original. Join them for this anniversary programme of 'the best vocal music we know': Monteverdi, Wilbye, Joanna Marsh, Roderick Williams and Ravel: a vocal world in miniature.
